When the Notify Control Panel is first opened, the display looks like the above. If opened from the System 6.x Control Panel, it will be part of the Control Panel window; if opened in System 7.x, it will have its own window in the Finder.
All messages saved in Notify are summarized in the scrollable list that occupies most of the window. Each line in the list shows the date and time of the event, and the first few characters of the message. A “*” after the time means that the next time the message should appear is something other than what is shown in the list, due to advance specifications or Snoozing.
If there are any messages in the list, they may be selected either by clicking the mouse on them, or by typing the up or down arrows.
If there are no messages selected in the list, the New button is the default (as shown by the outline). The Edit and Delete buttons are active only when a message is selected in the list, in which case the Edit button is the default rather than New.
Keyboard shortcuts
Return or Enter selects the outlined button, either New or Edit.
N (without the ‚åò key) will always select the New button.
